Eyebrow Embroidery

Eyebrow embroidery is a process that deposits pigment into the skin using tiny needles to create fuller-looking brows and a more defined border. It is a type of semi-permanent makeup that can last up to 2 years.

At Jean Yip, our pigment colours are catered to Asian skin tones and our available colours range from light brown to dark brown. The technique keeps your brows filled and in shape every day without the inconvenience of drawing them in.

Your morning makeup routine will be quicker and you’ll look put-together even without makeup. Our Jean Yip eyebrow embroidery experts can create natural-looking brows that fit your features and your lifestyle. Achieve perfect brows every day.

Jean Yip Eyebrow Embroidery Styles

At Jean Yip, we offer five eyebrow embroidery styles that’ll suit women and men with different lifestyles and makeup preferences.

Classic Eyebrow:
The Classic Eyebrow is the traditional eyebrow method that deposits full-colour pigment onto the skin. This style is most suitable for women that prefer full-face make-up.
Deluxe Eyebrow:
The Deluxe Eyebrow style includes broad strokes with natural gaps in between. It is most suitable for those with thicker eyebrows.
Gradient Eye brow:
The Gradient Eyebrow includes a mixture of fine and broad strokes that mimic the natural eyebrow gradient from light to dark.
Perfect Signature Eyebrow:
The Perfect Signature Eyebrow creates an illusion of fuller eyebrows but with natural gaps. The strokes are curved to mimic natural hair follicles.
Korean Misty Eyebrow:
The Korean Misty Eyebrow style creates a powdery brow effect like filling your eyebrows with a brown shadow. This style also lasts longer and can be used to colour correct any previous eyebrow embroidery pigment that has faded.
Nano Hairstroke Eyebrow:
Nano Hairstroke Eyebrow is an eyebrow enhancement technique that uses ultra-fine needles to create realistic, hair-like strokes for fuller, natural-looking brows. Nano hairstrokes are more precise and gentler on the skin, making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive or oily skin. The result is beautifully defined, long-lasting brows with a soft, natural finish that mimics real hair. Ideal for those seeking to enhance sparse or uneven brows without the heavy, ``drawn-on`` look.
AfterBefore

Eyebrow Embroidery Process

step: 1

Consultation

Our Jean Yip eyebrow specialist will discuss with you the eyebrow style that fits your features and everyday lifestyle.

step: 2

Mapping

The eyebrow technician will begin measuring your face to create an ideal shape and position of your brows. Our Jean Yip experts may pluck or shave any stray hairs before outlining the eyebrow shape with a pencil.

step: 3

Numbing

Once you’ve confirmed that you’re satisfied with the shape, a numbing cream will be applied to your brows for a comfortable experience. After 20-30 minutes, the cream will be wiped off.

step: 4

Embroidering

The colour pigments will then be applied to the skin with tiny needles but you shouldn’t feel any pain and if you do, let your technician know. The process can take around two hours.

step: 5

Post-treatment

Our eyebrow specialist will apply a cold cotton serum to the brows for 10-30 minutes before wiping it off.

step: 6

Touch-up appointment

We recommend you come in for a touch-up appointment to fill in any gaps 1-3 months after the first session.

Eyebrow Embroidery FAQ

Your aftercare habits can help your embroidery last a lot longer. It can usually last 6 months on oily skin and up to 2 years on normal skin.

A numbing cream is applied before the process. Eyebrow embroidery should not hurt. If you feel discomfort, let your eyebrow technician know.

Eyebrow embroidery may not last as long on oily skin as the pigments usually cling to dry skin better.

If you have sensitive skin, our eyebrow consultant will assess your skin and advise if you are suitable for eyebrow embroidery during your consultation. We also use a cold cotton serum after the process that helps sensitive skin. Our cold cotton serum soothes the area and the wound to prevent a flare-up.

Generally, the downtime needed for normal skin is one week but sensitive skin can take up to two weeks.

For the first week post eyebrow embroidery, your brows will look darker but it’s completely normal and the pigment will fade over the next month. In the first week, you might notice some swelling and redness. Your brows will also begin to scab and peel and become a lot lighter than before.

  1. Don’t peel the scabs. Let them fall on their own or your brows could become uneven
  2. Keep water, soap or any lotion away from your brows 24 hours after the treatment. If water gets on your brows, pat gently
  3. Keep makeup away from your brow area for a week
  4. Avoid steam rooms, saunas, swimming and heavy exercise for a week where perspiration can get into contact with the brows
  5. Don’t use exfoliating skincare or actives around the area

You can shower as long as you keep water away from your brows 24 hours after the treatment.

We don’t recommend our clients use any gel around the area unless our eyebrow experts recommend one. At Jean Yip, our clients will receive our Repair Gel which has disinfectant properties while soothing the area. This gel keeps infections away and helps to heal the wound, which is an added benefit compared to the average aloe vera gel.

No, you don’t need to shave your natural brows. Our Jean Yip eyebrow technicians will work with your natural brows and will only pluck stray hairs if needed.
