Eyebrow Embroidery Process
Our Jean Yip eyebrow specialist will discuss with you the eyebrow style that fits your features and everyday lifestyle.
The eyebrow technician will begin measuring your face to create an ideal shape and position of your brows. Our Jean Yip experts may pluck or shave any stray hairs before outlining the eyebrow shape with a pencil.
Once you’ve confirmed that you’re satisfied with the shape, a numbing cream will be applied to your brows for a comfortable experience. After 20-30 minutes, the cream will be wiped off.
The colour pigments will then be applied to the skin with tiny needles but you shouldn’t feel any pain and if you do, let your technician know. The process can take around two hours.
Our eyebrow specialist will apply a cold cotton serum to the brows for 10-30 minutes before wiping it off.
We recommend you come in for a touch-up appointment to fill in any gaps 1-3 months after the first session.

Eyebrow Embroidery FAQ
Your aftercare habits can help your embroidery last a lot longer. It can usually last 6 months on oily skin and up to 2 years on normal skin.
A numbing cream is applied before the process. Eyebrow embroidery should not hurt. If you feel discomfort, let your eyebrow technician know.
Eyebrow embroidery may not last as long on oily skin as the pigments usually cling to dry skin better.
Generally, the downtime needed for normal skin is one week but sensitive skin can take up to two weeks.
For the first week post eyebrow embroidery, your brows will look darker but it’s completely normal and the pigment will fade over the next month. In the first week, you might notice some swelling and redness. Your brows will also begin to scab and peel and become a lot lighter than before.
You can shower as long as you keep water away from your brows 24 hours after the treatment.
We don’t recommend our clients use any gel around the area unless our eyebrow experts recommend one. At Jean Yip, our clients will receive our Repair Gel which has disinfectant properties while soothing the area. This gel keeps infections away and helps to heal the wound, which is an added benefit compared to the average aloe vera gel.
No, you don’t need to shave your natural brows. Our Jean Yip eyebrow technicians will work with your natural brows and will only pluck stray hairs if needed.
