Jean Yip Group is the official hair sponsor for Hair for Hope from 2011, for 4 consecutive years. Initiated by Children’s Cancer Foundation, Hair for Hope is the only head-shaving project in Singapore that aims to raise funds and awareness of childhood cancer. Every shaven head represents an understanding by the individual of the ordeals that a child with cancer is subjected to.
Jean Yip Group strongly believes in helping people in the world develop a stronger sense of self-image and confidence. Breast cancer is a disease that not only affects the health of survivors, it also affects the self-image of a woman. As such, Jean Yip Group has pledged to be part of the “Wear the Pink Ribbon Campaign” by being a distribution outlet for Breast Cancer Foundation’s newly designed pinks from 2012.
Jean Yip Group has also self-initiated hair-cutting project that lasted over 6 months to celebrate its 25th anniversary. A total of 25 centres participated for the project, e.g. Ang Mo Kio Community Home, Association of Visually Handicap, AWWA Educational Service, AWWA Family Service Centre, Methodist Children’s Home, Moral Home for the Aged Sick, Ren Ci Hospital, Singapore Association for the Deaf, Touch Community Service and many others. Apart from the 500 people who benefited from this project, Jean Yip staff that took part gained a strong sense of satisfaction for doing their part for our community.
